Does anyone know what the financial impact has been to district funding due to the TIF districts declared by the city?

Omg what annoying people. On and on about how we should abort our babies, hate our ancestors traditions, feel bad for being white, make our kids swap genders, give up meat and cars, give up everything that made our society worked in the first place.

Timothy Johnson, what about Nick and Zach and what they say offend you so much. They are both thinking critically and informing themselves. I have been to 3-4 board meetings in the past 12-16 months and the existing board is so politically motivated and connected to the union and the msba.

At the 9:00 mark he makes CLEAR that the board is finally past the Thompson era and that they have done well to move us on. He would like more transparency!

At 7:09 he still shows he will be fiscally conservative to get the most value out of the levy money! And he promises to be a good steward of those funds. He wants to focus on teachers and the achievement gap. He would also like more high potential in lower grades!

At 5:55 he talks about WHY it is good the levy passed. This was NOT asking for a "bigger budget" as some candidates says. Rather, we were the ONLY district in the metro with NO levy...it is how we pay for teachers. This is a great answer.

At the 4:15 mark he discusses cultural liaisons. This is a very important program. He also discuses the young scholars program to help underrepresented kids the chance to be in high potential!

At the 2:15 mark Mr. Johnson says he actually has experience with LARGE budgets. This is good for the district if they can get him...would be a nice pairing with Mr. Aldrich who is also running again.

At 7:40 he says the board does not respect parents...HOW? WHY? What is his point? Without evidence this is a terrible statement.

Here is what is REALLY scary...at the 6:30 mark Mr. STepka is giving the exact same answers as Mr. Pierson. Did they coordinate? Who helped them? These sound like really pat answers with NO substance behind them.

At the 5:10 mark Mr. Stepka wants to "get back to basics." And he thinks we are implementing social programs. Does he know what this means? Does he know that just the basics is not enough anymore...has he even been in a classroom?

At the 4:00 mark Mr. Stepka says teachers need what they need. Does he know what they need? Does he know they DON'T have what they need? Has he done any homework here? Or is he just spouting things he has learned he is supposed to "not like" about the district.

At mark 3:20 he says the school has a lack of regards for the constitution. He has no idea. AND, what he does not know is that if he wins he too will be a part of the lawsuit (despite that he thinks he will not be). He will be in for a rude awakening when he finds out he will be part of that suit.

At mark 2:23 Mr. Stepka says "consistent budgeting shortfalls." This is a lie. He has not bothered to look at the books or come to meetings. And he does NOT have budgeting experiences for a 100 million dollar budget. Let's face it...he does not have a clue.

In his closing statement Mr. Pierson says the schools are indoctrinating kids. He has no proof of this and I bet he cannot show any as it does NOT happen. This is a guy who cannot be on the board...he is dangerous!

At the 8 minute mark Mr. Pierson says that people could speak at board meetings for a LONGER time if the board agreed with their position. That is a LIE..period. End of story. Go watch the videos.

At the 7 minute mark Mr. Pierson talk about schools NOT making health decisions for kids. FYI, schools have had vaccine mandates for YEARS with exceptions for religion etc. It is clear from this interview so far that Mr. Pierson has no idea what is going on...

Let's be very clear...I household budget is a very bad analogy for a school budget. And has Mr. Pierson even seen what the board has done in the past year? It has made more than 4 million in cuts that are permanent...the vast majority of which were nowhere near students. Maybe he should go to a meeting once in awhile.

Bob, saying you're the only Republican in the race, is probably the worse thing you could have said. And saying you work with people, just means you work with Democrats. And that's not at all what anyone is looking for.

Mort made sense to my brain. Bob seemed very excited. I didn't like the way Bob came out ripping on Mort and attacking him and not just talking about himself. Mort has done what he said. We need less government and I personally don't value having more and more bills passed. Ben Franklin said something like there's the government if you can keep it. Do we need to pass a bill that crimes are against the law? Keep it simple.

The Establishment Republicans are an absolute joke. Most politicians are weak minded and can't handle actual debate and hard questions. It's not about bills being passed when RINOs and Democrats are bringing ridiculous bills forward. If Mortensen isn't liked by a lot of politicians on both sides of the aisle then he must be doing a lot of things right. Most Republicans were silent about Covid-19 shut downs. Mortensen fought early and often and spoke against the shut downs when others were too weak to say anything and let Walz ruin our state.

Mortensen won that debate.

I will proudly vote for Mort after watching this debate!

Considering Mort literally had no bills of his passed, consider the bar lowered. Effective legislators can do good work in a minority. Mort can't make friends with his own party. His career will do down with A4L.
